She is predeceased by her parents, a daughter Melissa Ann Witherell, her sister Ellen Mott, and her brothers Roger, Robert, Richard, and Randy Peck. Joyce was born in Gouverneur on March 28, 1944, the daughter of Ernest and Vivian Peck. She has lived in Gouverneur for many years and provided child care for several local families. Joyce enjoyed crocheting, reading, growing flowers, and jigsaw puzzles.

She was educated in local schools and a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Always the free spirit, she was a child of the 60’s; spending some of that time in the California scene, before coming... Sara Nan Levins of Opelika, Alabama died on December 5, 2022. She was born March 28, 1937, in Lafayette, Alabama to Olivia and Elmer Yates. Joyce is also survived by her brother Ronald Peck of Fine, her sisters Ruth Hinshaw of Florida, Connie Vrooman of Gouverneur, Linda Lashua of Edwards, Kathy Fisher of Gouverneur, several nieces and nephews.

His family is very grateful for the care and relief that Hospice of Southern Maine provided in the last three weeks of George's life. George taught English for many years at Shead Memorial High School, where many students considered him a favorite teacher, one who sparked in them a lifelong love of reading and literature. Don worked a variety of jobs including bridge construction, mill work, farming, and for a florist.

Terry most enjoyed spending time with his family on many camping trips, vacations and attending as many of the grandkids’ activities as possible. He was their biggest cheerleader and so proud of them all. A major difference in opinion with the superintendent caused him to resign in protest in 1983.

Edith Watson Irwin, of Auburn Alabama, passed away on December 7, 2022. After graduating from Sidney Lanier High School, Edie went on to graduate from Auburn University. Edie and Dave went on to have three children, Geri Frazier, John Irwin and Laura Irwin as well as 4 grandchildren. Edie is survived by her sister, Fran Greene of Nashville, Tennessee. Casimira Dasko Voelkel of Opelika, Alabama, died December 12, 2022. She was born in Koblenz, Germany, on March 4, 1947, to Laura and John Dasko of Poland.

Vera married Harry N Nordberg, Jr on April 14, 1956 and was married for 66 years. They retired to Gouverneur, NY. She enjoyed spending time with her many sisters and brothers. The second of Glenn and Helen Bartholomew Lehigh's three children, George was born in Watertown, NY on December 29, 1927, and raised in Gouverneur, a dairy-farming river community in northern New York. When he was older he sold snow shoveling contracts for $5 a season, and worked as a farmhand on the Overackers Farm during the summer and at Mr. Toon's shoe repair shop during the school year. As a high schooler, he was on the payroll at Kinney's Drug Store.

Terry is survived by his loving wife Phyllis of 53 years, daughter Sara Myers, son TJ Myers, daughter Gina Blair. Grandchildren Chelsea Bromley, Logan Fuller, Garrison Moore; Austin, Kayla and Sydney Myers, Tyler and Katelyn Blair and great grandchildren Kori-Ann & Parker Bromley. Brother Edmund Myers, sister Karen Blackburn, brother-in-law’s Jerry Filiatrault and Bradley Filiatrault, sister-in-law’s Beverly DelliCarpini and Brenda Broadbent, along with several nieces and nephews.

Born in Utica, June 13, 1935, Louis was a son of the late Luigi and Concetta Angelini. He was educated in local schools, graduating from TR Proctor High School, where he excelled in academics, music, and football.
